Wine Circle

Torres Cellar

The City Livery Club Wine Circle was founded in 2000 following an initiative by Past President Ivan Nellist who was also the Founding Chairman.

The City Livery Club Wine Circle provides an informal and friendly forum for sharing an appreciation and enthusiasm of wine, irrespective of depth or level of expertise. To this end it organises a varied programme of events, including tastings and an Annual Dinner.

The Annual Dinner is usually held in April and has been held at venues such as The Don Restaurant, The Capitol Club, Alderman’s Dining Room at the Guildhall and Gastro-pubs.

Tastings of Spanish, Greek, French, Lebanese, Indian, Moldovian, German, Australian, South American and North American wines have been held during the five regular meeting and Annual General Meeting of the Circle.

Meetings are usually held in November, January, February, April and the Annual General Meeting in June. The venue for meetings varies but most have recently been held at Davy’s ‘The Bishop of Norwich’ Moorgate in the Upper Room and tastings are followed by a buffet supper.

If you are interested in joining please contact the Section Chairman, Mr. Michael Gilham or

Section Honorary Secretary, Julie Fox.
