Motoring Section

Founded in 1980 by Graham Redcliffe Club President (1990/91) to cater for Members of the City Livery Club with an interest in Motoring and all associated matters.

The current annual format comprises three luncheons to which speakers are invited, and a further lunch on the day of the Annual General Meeting in March. Other events include a Concours d’Etat on the first Sunday in November, the day of the London to Brighton Emancipation Run, a short trip generally mid-week at the behest of the current Chairman. In past years visits have been made to Nottingham, York, Ironbridge, Salisbury, Eastbourne, Norwich, Exeter and the Cotswolds to name but a few of the watering holes. Visits have also been made to Paris and Bruges. It is also customary to visit motor manufacturers and Rolls Royce, Ford, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Morgan have all entertained the Motoring Section.
