There has been a Golf Section of the Club for over 50
years and many distinguished Club members,
Liverymen and Presidents are counted amongst its
present and former members. In common with many other golfing societies
membership levels have been slipping for several years and
the membership is ageing.
Younger players seem to find it much harder to take a
day off work. Nevertheless the Society has an excellent fixture
list - a Spring 4-day holiday in Le Touquet in early May, a
late Spring Meeting at Sandy Lodge GC in late May/June,
a Summer Meeting at
Hankley Common GC in
mid-July, a match against the Chartered Accountants Livery
Company in early August at Woking GC and an Autumn Meeting
in early September at New Zealand GC.
Guests are welcome at all meetings and to the Spring
Holiday, more particularly if they have City connections. The Society would welcome additional members from the
Club. We cater
for all standards of golf and the primary objective is good
fellowship.
